Cancer

Does it seem like everybody around you is getting cancer? Worried about getting it? I saw a news article last week where medical scientists are now saying some forms of cancer are inevitable. That is a really sad outlook on life. Inevitable is not the correct term to use. We all have cancer, it's natural for the body to develop cancer, we just don't have to die from it if we pay attention to the signals our body gives us. Our immune system can successfully eliminate cancer cells if we keep it strong by eliminating the food we eat, the substances we expose ourselves to, and the activities we engage in that diminish it. There are inexpensive blood tests that can show the level of what are called cancer markers. These markers indicate the presence of cancer cells and tumors. If you have too many markers in your blood then you can take action to reduce them and keep the cancer from getting so strong you can't fight it. Whether you choose to use chemo and radiation therapy or alternative medicine to fight cancer the key is early detection. Western societies are awash in cancer causing substances in our food, the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the clothes on our back. We must pay attention and take action when required if we don't want to become another cancer casualty.

Anger Management

Pissed off all the time? Surrounded by nothing but morons? Your bosses at work don't have a clue? Reduce and chill...your energy is too high. Stop eating red meat, eat more fruit and vegetables, reduce animal products in general until that energy load bleeds out. If you aren't engaging in any sexual activity, start. People may still be morons but you will be able to put up with it much easier without all that energy pushing you to try to fix them and install your version of how things should be.

Low Energy Blues

No spark between you and your significant other? The loss of physical attraction between two people can be the result of low energy. Allow your energy to build up by eating right and abstaining from energy dissipating activities and the spark of attraction will return. Eliminate energy lowering foods such as all sugars, fruits, alcohol, tobacco, and recreational drugs; eat more energy building foods such as red meat, chicken, fish, eggs, and whole grains; get plenty of sleep and abstain from any sexual activities until you feel your energy return you to the state of physical attraction.

The Common Cold

Its cold and flu season once again! The weather is cold one day and hot the next. The extremes of temperature in spring can play havoc with our immune system and the energy balance needed to sustain our defenses. We eat to build our energy up on the cold days, then we are stuck with too much energy when the hot weather replaces the cold too quickly. The reverse is just as depressing to our system when we eat lighter energy foods on the warm days and then a cold front moves in and pushes our energy too low. This rapid cycling of temperatures makes our immune system susceptible to harmful microbe attack. The best way to keep your energy balanced during this time (and as a result keep your immune system in top condition) is to eliminate the extreme inputs and activities. Reduce or eliminate all forms of sugar, fruit, alcohol, tobacco, and recreational drugs on the energy reducer side, and eliminate or reduce red meat on the energy accelerator side.

Regret

Filled with regret and feeling bad about past actions? Feeling like your life is out of control? The old Sikh gurus of the Punjab had a recipe for solving these situations: vegetarianism, meditation, and fasting. The Sikhs believed that the mind was a separate entity that the soul picked up on its way to the physical world. It was used as a sort of diving suit to enable the soul to experience life through the physical body. The idea was to eliminate the ego (the "I" aspect of the mind) and reduce the emotions' control over your physical actions. This would allow the soul (the real you), through its connect to the universe (intuition), to make your every day decisions. This form of existence allows you to feel "right" about the results of your decisions whether they are seen as good or bad by others. This will keep regret from forming in the first place and allow you to feel in control of your own life.

This whole process is based on reducing your energy input through vegetarianism and fasting. These actions will calm the mind and keep it from filling your moment-to-moment experience of the physical world with constant chatter, speculation, regret, animosities, and insecurities. These various mental states color subsequent decisions, creating quite the tangled mess. Once your energy (and thereby the mental chatter) is reduced, you can use meditation to retrain your mind, disconnect your emotions, and allow your natural connection to the universe to shine through. Once the mind and the "I" separateness from the universe is reduced or eliminated, all of your past action regret will be dissolved by the total acceptance of yourself as okay and a natural part of the universe, regardless of outside or internal judgments.

Stress Reduction

US election results got you stressed? Freaking out over the first 100 days? Arguing with family members? Consider modifying your "one truth reality" or "one dimensional thinking" (your way is the only way) to include the possibility of other truths, other realities, other ways of thinking that are just as valid as your own.

Reduce stress and conflict by being more inclusive and understanding of other belief systems. No matter how irritating, stupid, hurtful, or bigoted they may seem to you, they are just as righteously held as your own. Escalation of conflict can only be avoided by negotiating compromise which can only begin through acceptance.

Reducing your energy input will help you be more accepting. Have a few beers, a glass of wine, or a hot fudge sundae, and open up and relax.

Weather

Cold, cloudy weather got you down and depressed? Winter weather naturally sucks energy from you while at the same time forces your body to use more energy to maintain its optimum operating temperature. Keep your energy burning hot to be comfortable physically and mentally. Cut out all those energy depleting foods and substances, and focus on consuming more high energy input.
